I first hired Nick to mount and route 2 large screen TV's and address some speaker issues on my 48 Sea Ray power boat. He is very knowledgeable and easy to deal with, providing some recommendations that I accepted. He answers his phone or always responds very quickly. His estimate was very reasonable and his work came in at the expected price while being very professionally done.
As a result, I hired him to redo my electrical system and install a static inverter. Along the way he found a problem with one of my engine's alternators. I had him repair that as well. Once again, his work was reasonably priced, accomplished professionally and on time/budget. I highly recommend Nick at Larson Marine Electric for your boat's electrical and/or entertainment system needs.
I have been a boater for many years and have to deal with many company's and individuals with many disappointments along the way. In all of my years Nick is at the top of my list for anyone I have had dealings with in the marine community. I had Nick install a new inverter/charger combo unit on my Catalina 42. All work was done on target and at price that was bid. The job came out beautiful. Nick replaced and cleaned up some pretty shoddy work from past installation. My boat was left cleaner that is was when he started and everything installed or replaced worked perfect and looks fantastic. It's really great to have found someone in the marine industry that is master at his craft, honest, hard working and very friendly. Thanks Nick your the best. *****
Nick Larson has helped me out 3 maybe 4 times now, and I have found him super competent, responsive, friendly, and effective.
1. He installed new plotters and radar in our 35' Tiara. The work was beautifully done. When we later had trouble with the radar, he diagnosed a defective part from the manufacturer and replaced it at no charge.
2. The Tiara's batteries died while I was away, and I replaced those batteries myself. When they died a second time, I called Nick and he traced the problem to a dead generator. He replaced the gen and now all is well. While there he pointed out a potentially loose shore power connection issue and showed me exactly what I needed to order to prevent its recurrence.
3. Nick was so helpful and accommodating with our boat issues that we asked him to install dock lights for us. He found beautiful alternating blue/white lights, wired the dock, and installed the lights. The end result is gorgeous.
I have retained many yacht, dinghy, and boat service people over the years in CA, FL, and the Bahamas, and I rank Nick as the single most reliable, friendly, and helpful of all of them.
